![]() ![]() It was Thursday night when my girlfriend came home from work and we fired up Skype for our daily quality time. So, when I ran out of coffee beans Wednesday last week, I went to my local roaster to try Indonesian beans- different beans than I usually get and this new coffee is pretty strong in comparison to the old one. Some days, I'd feel a little nervousness after drinking 3 cups, but I never really got the full fledged feeling of anxiety. I was pretty much anxiety free for almost 6 months and I am actually a rather frequent coffee drinker (1-3 cups in a row every day). It's actually good to be reminded how awful the symptoms made me feel. I had truly almost forgotten how horrible anxiety really is. Everything is so bad when you have anxiety. Yet, last night it seemed dark and just bad. For instance, my apartment is a place where I really feel happy. Update: Man, you really appreciate how GREAT it is to feel normal after experiencing a panic episode. I definitely think coffee is the culprit, here! I will abstain from caffeine for then next 72 hours, and keep r/anxiety posted if I exhibit symptoms. ![]() I'm positive that this was caused by coffee consumption. This morning, only a single cup, and then boom hot flashes, tachycardia, dizziness, sweating, a general sense of malaise and overwhelming fear. Last night, I had had about 4 cups of coffee. after some deduction I have narrowed down the stressor that seems to be the one thing different than the usual. I resolved not to give in to the frustration and fear, and allow the symptoms to subside. I took some deep breaths, and rode it out. ( I had my first panic attack last night after almost a year without symptoms.
